In my journey to discover my identity, I’ve been drawn to the contrast between control and freedom, this has become a focal point in my work. I’m originally from Poland and the connection I have to the country and my family living there is very strong. At the same time, I grew up in a different country, causing me to feel split between two worlds.

This is projected onto my paintings. These are mostly based on my family archive and self-made photographs of places and events.

While I have a lot of joyous memories of my youth in Poland, my imagery is often incomplete and portrayed in a dark palette. Contrast plays a major role in my work. This is all connected to my ever-continuous journey toward discovering my identity. The pictures of my family, the traditions, the experiences, the memories contrary to the reference, and the control opposed to the freedom are set free in my art and eventually are led to their own place.
